This is made from the salvaged metal skelton of (yet another) Lazy Boy recliner. It is meant to illustrate "damped harmonic motion". In non-physics terms, this means that it's fun to watch how any given part of the piece will move in a non-linear, non-predictable fashion when you whack the sculpture with a hammer.
